Think all public bathrooms are created equal? Ever spend hours scouring NYC blocks or maps online to find a halfway-decent looking one near you?
Well, think again — because one of the best in the country is hiding inside one of NYC’s most iconic concert venues.
The Rooftop at Pier 17 has just been named a finalist for the 2025 America’s Best Restroom® award, standing out among nine contenders nationwide for its design, cleanliness, and skyline views.

The annual contest by Cintas honors public restrooms that go beyond the basics to deliver a truly memorable experience.
Pier 17’s rooftop restrooms aren’t your standard concert venue facilities.
The space features 75 stalls with a clean, modern aesthetic — think smooth concrete walls, soft lighting, and ADA-compliant sinks.
But the real showstopper? Oversized windows with panoramic views of the Manhattan skyline, letting in floods of natural light and giving you a front-row seat to the city even during intermission.
It’s a thoughtful extension of Pier 17’s upscale, waterfront vibe — an amenity that makes the venue feel as polished off-stage as it does on it.

How the contest works
Now in its 24th year, the America’s Best Restroom® competition celebrates facilities that shine in five categories: cleanliness, visual appeal, innovation, functionality, and unique design elements.
This year’s other finalists include everything from a pink marble lobby restroom in Utah to a self-cleaning public loo in Colorado.
Voting is open through August 15, 2025, and you can cast your ballot daily at bestrestroom.com. The winner will be announced this fall and receive national recognition (plus some serious bragging rights).
