If you’re looking for an excuse to make a trip to Governor’s Island, this weekend’s debut of Jacob Hashimoto’s installation is it!
Two beautiful installations, “The Eclipse” and “Never Comes Tomorrow,” have debuted this week on Governor’s Island. The installations consist of thousands of delicate, hanging rice paper kites, cubes and funnels displayed in historic St. Cornelius Chapel and Liggett Hall Archway.
This is Hashimoto’s first New York City show and “combines his interests in the systems of architecture, history and cosmology.” The installation will be up until late October so you’ll have all summer to stop by and check it out.
