This winter just won’t quit!
February 2021 has already been our snowiest month in 5 years, and this winter season has had more snow than the last two years combined. And even though this week seemed to signal changes, the weather is still completely all over the place.
After freezing rain earlier this week and 50-degree temperatures yesterday, a new winter storm is bringing freezing winds and MORE snow to NYC tomorrow, Thursday, February 18.
The National Weather Service reports there is the potential for 6 inches of snow or more (And Storm Team4 projects 6-8), with the heaviest snow occurring Thursday late morning into Friday. There will be a high of 29 degrees with wind chill values between 15 and 20 degrees.
The snow may change to a wintry mix Thursday evening in NYC & on Long Island. They say there is “still uncertainty in the location of greatest amounts and the extent of mixing along the coast,” and by tonight there should be a more accurate forecast.
Still, there is a winter storm warning in effect.
Another winter storm will bring more snow into the region tomorrow through Friday. Here's the latest breakdown:
