The Amtrak Big City Savings Sale is underway, and your trek to those ski slopes, cozy digs, and popular cities all the more accessible. The east coast is your oyster, friends.

Trips to book during the Amtrak Big City Savings Sale
The Amtrak Big City Savings intends to provide perks for those traveling across the east coast — New York City, Philly, Boston, Baltimore, New Haven, and Washington D.C. Travelers are able to snag up to 30% off, and the following deals are available to New Yorkers:
- Baltimore, MD to New York, NY as low as $56 each way
- New York, NY to Boston, MA as low as $59 each way
- Philadelphia, PA to New York, NY as low as $36 each way
- Washington, DC to New York, NY as low as $59 each way
When should I book?
Although the sale just kicked off on Monday, January 5th, vacationers only have until Friday, the 9th to confirm their trips. Bear in mind, travelers booking between the following timeframe are eligible for the discount:
- January 20th, 2026 – February 12th, 2026

According to Amtrak, there are a few things to keep in mind, which include (but are not limited to):
- Valid for travel on Northeast Regional and any trains that operate between Boston, MA (BOS) and Washington, D.C. (WAS) except Acela
- Valid in Coach only
- Availability is limited and may not be available on trains operating during busy travel times
