The 97th annual Oscars might take place in Hollywood, California, but it was two beloved New Yorkers — Adam Sandler And Timothée Chalamet — who got the crowd going on Sunday, March 2nd.
During his opening monologue, host Conan O’Brien reminded attendees that everyone should be in tip-top shape. “And for such a prestigious night, it’s important that everyone’s properly dressed,” he noted to the crowd. Then, the camera paned to Adam Sandler, who of course, was in his signature swag: a hoodie and basketball shorts…not a black tie outfit.

After a bit of back and forth between Sandler and O’Brien, the Happy Gilmore jokester took off due to his inappropriate attire. He invited everyone to a round of five-on-five basketball at Veteran Park, and concluded with a very Sandler-esque move: a big hug for Timothée Chalamet…and a big “CHALAMET!” roar akin to, “Once again something that could’ve been brought to my attention YESTERDAY!”
As you might recall, Sandler displayed similar behavior a few weeks ago in NYC when Chalamet pulled double duty hosting SNL. (We love a good bromance!) Tonight, the 29-year-old was up for best male actor for his role in A Complete Unknown, the Bob Dylan biopic.
