We may have to wait a few years, but a huge new Target is coming to Union Square East and a lease has already been signed.
The retail company has officially signed a lease for the space currently occupied by the Food Emporium. According to a report by the NY Post, Target has signed a lease for nearly 16 years at 10 Union Square East. Once open, the 32,579-square-foot store will be Target’s 12th location in Manhattan—with stores in Washington Heights, Columbus Circle, and Hell’s Kitchen planned to open in 2020…along with another 4 opening throughout Staten Island, Brooklyn, and Queens! There’s also a 33,000-square-foot Target coming to Times Square in 2022.
Remember when we only had one Target?…Because we barely do at this point.
The Food Emporium will remain open through April of 2023. Target will open later that year.
