1. Chillhouse, SoHo
Cyndi Ramirez-Fulton eröffnete dieses Café-Spa in SoHo, das Maniküre, Gesichtsbehandlungen, Massagen und Wellness-Drinks anbietet. Ein großer Erfolg sind die atemberaubenden „Chill Tips“ (aufgedrückte Nägel), die es in einer Vielzahl von Farben und Designs gibt.

Golde wurde 2017 von Trinity Mouzon Wofford in einer Einzimmerwohnung in Brooklyn mitbegründet. Woffords Unternehmen konzentriert sich auf Superfood-Essentials und verkauft Wellness- und Beauty-Produkte.
3. McNally Jackson, verschiedene Standorte
Die beliebte unabhängige Buchhandlung McNally Jackson wird seit fast 20 Jahren von Sarah McNally geführt und ist nach wie vor eine kultige Buchhandlung mit mehreren Standorten in New York City. Außerdem hat sie gerade einen neuen Flagship-Shop im Rockefeller Center eröffnet!

9. Catbird, Williamsburg & SoHo
Mit einem Standort in Williamsburg und dem anderen im Herzen von NYCs „Klein-Paris“ ist dieses von Frauen geführte Schmuckunternehmen unter der Leitung von Rony Vardi ein Experte für alles, was klein und glänzend ist! Das Geschäft, das Schmuck als Poesie versteht, verwendet 95 % recyceltes Gold, 95 % recycelte Diamanten und Steine aus ethischen Quellen. Catbird ist vor allem für seine Forever Bracelets (auch „getting zapped“ genannt) bekannt, die speziell um das Handgelenk geschweißt werden, um das „ultimative Freundschaftsarmband“ zu erhalten.

Ihre Vorzeigebrauerei und ihr Schankraum wurden im März 2021 in Williamsburg eröffnet.

12. The Frankie Shop, LES
Die Gründerin Gaelle Drevet bietet Damenmode, die für Luxus und Klasse steht, und hat sowohl einen Standort in New York als auch in Paris. Diese Zoohandlung in Brooklyn arbeitet mit einer Gruppe von Frauen aus der ganzen Welt zusammen, die aus einkommensschwachen Gemeinden und Einwanderergemeinden in New York sowie aus marginalisierten Gemeinden im globalen Süden stammen, um Produkte für Ihre pelzigen Freunde auf ethische Weise zu beschaffen und herzustellen. Gone To The Dogs wurde von Jennifer und Santos, Eltern von Haustieren, gegründet und ist stolz darauf, „gut gemachte und umweltfreundliche Haustierprodukte“ herzustellen.

18. Form + Flow, Long Island City
Form + Flow ist ein von New York City zertifiziertes Unternehmen im Besitz von Minderheitsfrauen (M/WBE), gegründet von Shelly Yang. Yang und Gründungsmitglied Nikki Carter bemühen sich um die Förderung von Achtsamkeitspraktiken, die für die Gemeinschaft zugänglich sind. Die Besucher können an Workshops teilnehmen, die von buddhistischer Philosophie bis hin zu einer Vielzahl von Wellness-Erfahrungen reichen.

19. A.I.R. Galerie, DUMBO
Dieser beeindruckende Ausstellungsraum wurde von einer Gruppe von 20 Frauen gegründet, um einen dauerhaften Ort zu schaffen, an dem Frauen in der Kunstwelt hervorgehoben und gefördert werden. Es war die „erste gemeinnützige, von Künstlern geleitete und unterhaltene Galerie für Künstlerinnen“ im ganzen Land.

Hinter einer Tür aus Schokolade verbirgt sich ein schickes Speakeasy, in dem alles angeboten wird, von Cocktails bis hin zu herzhaften Tafeln. Nachdem Sie einen oder zwei Drinks zu sich genommen haben, sollten Sie unbedingt im vorderen Teil des Geschäfts einkaufen, das als Lebensmittelladen fungiert und zu 60-80 % von Frauen/Minderheiten geführte Produkte verkauft.
