Die besten öffentlichen Schwimmbäder in Manhattan
Beginnen wir mit unseren Lieblingsbädern in Manhattan. Es ist wichtig anzumerken, dass zwei unserer normalerweise beliebtesten kostenlosen NYC-Pools in Manhattan diesen Sommer geschlossen sind. Es handelt sich um den Tony Dapolito Pool und den Harlem Meer Center Pool (ehemals Lasker Pool). Es gibt aber immer noch einige gute Möglichkeiten. Schauen Sie sich diese an:
1. Hamilton Fish Pool
Der Hamilton Fish Pool ist ein tolles Erlebnis für die ganze Familie. Neben einem olympischen Schwimmbecken gibt es ein Planschbecken für die jüngeren Schwimmer. An diesem Pool gibt es allerdings keine Loungemöbel. Denken Sie also daran, Handtücher mitzubringen, auf denen Sie sitzen können, wenn Sie nicht im Wasser sind.

2. Jackie-Robinson-Pool
Der Jackie Robinson Pool in Harlem ist der perfekte Ort, um den ganzen Tag im Schatten zu verbringen und zu planschen. Das zweistöckige Backstein-Badehaus ist architektonisch wunderschön und der Pool ist ebenso schön. Der Grund, warum wir diesen Pool so sehr lieben, ist, dass er von vielen Bäumen umgeben ist, die an heißen, sonnigen Tagen für Schatten sorgen.

3. John Jay Pool
Wie die anderen Pools ist auch der John Jay Pool täglich von 11:00 – 15:00 Uhr und 16:00 – 19:00 Uhr geöffnet.

4. Marcus-Garvey-Pool
Dieses Schwimmbad in Harlem ist täglich von 11 bis 19 Uhr geöffnet, mit einer Poolreinigung von 15 bis 16 Uhr. Das Schwimmbad bietet den ganzen Sommer über kostenlosen Schwimmunterricht sowie spezielle Schwimmzeiten und andere Programme an!

5. Asser Levy Recreation Center Pool und Spielplatz
Das Asser Levy Rec Center bietet nicht nur ein großes Außenbecken und ein Planschbecken für die Kleinen, sondern auch einen Spielplatz, Basketballplätze, ein Spielzimmer und ein Hallenbad in einem Badehaus!

6. Highbridge Pool
Direkt am Harlem River gelegen, verfügt dieser Ort über zwei Schwimmbecken von olympischer Größe (eines davon ist ein Planschbecken). Darüber hinaus gibt es im Freien Umkleidekabinen und Duschen, die von den Besuchern genutzt werden können. Es wurde sogar in Lin-Manuel Mirandas Film In the Heights gesichtet!

Die besten kostenlosen Schwimmbäder in Brooklyn
Egal, wo du dich in Brooklyn befindest, du wirst ein öffentliches Schwimmbad in deiner Nähe finden (das wahrscheinlich nicht so überfüllt ist wie in Manhattan). Viele dieser Schwimmbäder befinden sich in großartigen Vierteln und bieten so viele Möglichkeiten, sich nach dem Schwimmen zu vergnügen. Tauchen wir ein in unsere Lieblingsbäder in Brooklyn:
1. McCarren Park Pool
Der McCarren Pool ist einer der neuesten renovierten Pools der Stadt. An der Grenze zwischen Williamsburg und Greenpoint gelegen, ist der 37.571 Quadratmeter große Pool mit seiner geräumigen Terrasse und dem Lounge-Bereich ein großartiger Ort für Touristen und Einheimische gleichermaßen, um sich abzukühlen.

2. Red Hook Pool
Der Red Hook Pool ist ein weiteres olympisches Schwimmbad in voller Größe mit einem großen Erholungsgebiet in der Stadt. Wir bezeichnen diesen Pool gerne als „den Pool für erfahrene Schwimmer“.

3. Sunset Park Pool
Nach einer kleinen Wanderung durch den Sunset Park erreichen Sie den Scheitelpunkt des Parks, wo Sie einen Swimmingpool von olympischer Größe und einen der besten Ausblicke auf die Freiheitsstatue finden! Da es sich um einen öffentlichen Park handelt, gibt es auch einen Spielplatz, ein Badehaus und vieles mehr. In diesem Schwimmbad sind sowohl Einheimische als auch Touristen anzutreffen!

4. Douglass und DeGraw Pool
Dieser kinderfreundliche Pool ist ideal für Familien. Er verfügt über eine große schattige Liegefläche und ein separates Kinderbecken. Außerdem bietet der Douglass and DeGraw Pool mit seinen fluoreszierenden Wänden und trendigen Farben den perfekten Instagram-Hintergrund (wenn Sie Ihr Handy mitnehmen können).

Der Luxus eines Schwimmbadbesuchs außerhalb von Manhattan besteht oft darin, dass man einen tollen Blick auf Manhattan hat. 3. Crotona Pool
Der Crotona Pool ist einer der größten Pools in der Bronx und verfügt über ein Planschbecken für die Kinder und sogar über ein Badehaus. Der Pool ist fast 4x so groß wie ein olympischer Pool und hat auch Stühle am Rand, damit Sie sich beim Schwimmen bräunen können! Das Badehaus ist mit seinem tierischen Art-Déco-Design ein Kunstwerk für sich und ein großartiger Ort, um in der Bronx kostenlos zu schwimmen.

4. Liberty Pool
In diesem Park in Jamaica werden Sie mit Sicherheit „cool“ bleiben, denn hier gibt es sowohl ein mittelgroßes als auch ein Planschbecken, in dem Sie schwimmen können! Außerdem gibt es Rettungsschwimmer, Umkleideräume, Duschen und Schließfächer für die Gäste. Während des Sommers werden außerdem zu verschiedenen Zeiten Schwimmkurse und -programme angeboten.
