1. O Museu de Arte Rubin
O foco exclusivo do Rubin Museum na arte, ideias e culturas do Himalaia do Planalto Tibetano torna esse museu único por si só. 4. Museu da Imagem em Movimento
O Museum of the Moving Image (Museu da Imagem em Movimento ), no Queens, é um dos museus mais subestimados da cidade. Sua missão é “promover a compreensão, o prazer e a apreciação da arte, da história, da técnica e da tecnologia do cinema, da televisão e da mídia digital” e eles fazem isso apresentando exposições e programas relacionados às artes da imagem em movimento. O museu também exibe mais de 400 filmes clássicos e contemporâneos todos os anos.

5. Museu da Cidade de Nova York

O Hispanic Society Museum & Library é, na verdade, a joia escondida da parte alta de Manhattan. 9. Museu do Trânsito de Nova York
O New York Transit Museum data de 1976 e é uma homenagem à história do transporte público em nossa cidade. Os visitantes do museu podem fazer um passeio pela história do transporte de massa… embarcando em vagões antigos do metrô, sentando-se ao volante de um ônibus urbano, passando por catracas antigas e explorando suas exposições rotativas. A parte mais legal? Ele está literalmente instalado em uma estação de metrô subterrânea de 1936 no centro do Brooklyn!

10. Mmuseumm
O Mmuseumm é definitivamente o mais moderno dos museus desta lista. De acordo com sua declaração de missão, eles são “dedicados a explorar a humanidade moderna e os eventos atuais por meio de objetos de todo o mundo” . Alguns dos objetos em exposição são o tipo de coisa que a maioria das pessoas passa a vida inteira sem pensar muito (por exemplo, o clipe de pão que fecha o saco de Wonderbread), mas a apresentação e a explicação de tudo isso o tornam bastante interessante. Isso e o fato de que o espaço é tão discreto que você pode passar direto por ele.

11. Museu do Chinês na América
O MOCA foi fundado em 1980 e se concentra nas experiências de pessoas de ascendência chinesa nos Estados Unidos. 14. Sociedade de Ilustradores
A Society of Illustrators foi fundada em 1901, e aqui você pode conferir exposições temáticas de ilustração durante todo o ano, bem como programas de educação artística. A coleção permanente é extensa, abrigando mais de 2.500 peças que são exibidas periodicamente. Em 2012, o museu criou o Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art Gallery com foco em exposições com curadoria desse tipo de ilustração.

15. Museu de Alimentos e Bebidas (MOFAD)
O Museum of Food and Drink dá vida aos alimentos e aos processos por trás deles nesse espaço no Brooklyn. No momento, eles têm uma exposição – Flavor – em exibição, que é uma “jornada sensorial por nossos corpos e nosso mundo, projetada e com curadoria de cientistas de alimentos e antropólogos culinários”.
