New York is a city of so many choices, so much possibility… or is it? There are definitely some things you just cannot do because you live here; some are for the best, but some we got the short end of the stick on.
1. You Can’t Be Truly Alone:
Unless in your apartment when you’re out there in the city, you are never alone. Even if you want to be, even if one more person brushing up on you on the subway puts you over the edge. You’ll never be truly alone. For some, that’s awesome and for others, it’s a bit terrifying.
2. You Can’t Go To a Movie For a Reasonable Price:
Seriously, it’s like $15 now for a regular old 2D movie. Let’s not even talk about IMAX or 3D. You might as well just stay home and binge-watch Netflix.
3. You Can’t go Hiking:
Not in the city, anyway. Forest Park doesn’t count. Do you want a true nature trail? The closest you are going to get is the up in the Hudson River area. So if you are looking to work out your legs, you’re going to be driving a bit first!
4. You Can’t Eat Decent Tex-Mex:
Sorry, but California wins that prize. Our Tex-Mex is OK, but we just can’t get a breakfast taco right. That’s OK though because we do almost every other kind of food better.
5. You Can’t Afford to Live Alone:
At least the likelihood is small. Living in this city in any capacity means having roommates to make the astronomical rent even a little bit affordable!
