Coming into the East Village is an all-day vegan diner called Dollface Diner.
The new restaurant will take the place formerly occupied by Bar Virage at 118 2nd Avenue. Owner Ravi DeRossi—who’s behind other popular vegan restaurants like Avant Garden, Ladybird, and Fire & Water—is expanding his vegan dining reach to be 24/7.
There isn’t much information released yet for the space, but a request for a new liquor license is on file for the space which will be discussed at the CB3 meeting on February 11. On a podcast interview last year DeRossi mentioned that the new restaurant will offer items like milk shakes, vegan egg creams, and pastries.
DeRossi is also the owner of Cienfuegos on Avenue A, which is currently in the process of transforming into another one of his vegan concepts: a vegan Texas BBQ spot called Honeybee’s. Once Dollface Diner and Honeybee’s are complete, DeRossi will have five vegan restaurants in the East Village!
