NYers who head to the legendary Katz’s Deli this March will receive much more than a pastrami on rye…
Canadian electronic music duo Zeds Dead is set to take over Katz’s and turn the circa-1888 deli into a club for an exclusive, one-night only show. Presented by Project 91, the takeover will offer an exclusive, intimate exploration of Return To The Spectrum Of Intergalactic Happiness, the duo’s first album in over 8 years. And since you obviously you can’t go to Katz’s without grabbing some food, there will, of course, also be all you can eat smoked meat from the city’s most famous eateries.
Zeds Dead rose to prominence after releasing original music and remixes–sampling artists from Bon Iver to Billie Eilish–from 2009 to 2010, and have since explored UK garage, house, electro house, hip-hop, glitch, and DnB. Across 14 tracks and 2 interludes, Return To The Spectrum Of Intergalactic Happiness “is about reclaiming the purity of artistic play—throwing ideas at the wall, following instincts without hesitation, and rediscovering the joy of creation.”
Though tickets are currently sold out–they sold out a whopping 10 minutes after being released–you can join a waitlist and try your luck at snagging one. If you do get your hands on one, however, be prepared to hand over $124 for it–a price to which Instagram user leadasounds responded, “i better be getting 3 reubens and a diet coke with it.” …Can’t say we disagree.
Beyond the Katz’s Deli show, which is ages 21+, Zeds Dead will also be at Brooklyn’s Avant Gardner nightclub on March 21st and 22nd.
Oh, and those who love to start their day at Katz’s need not fear–doors don’t open for the show until 11 pm, so you can still grab your reuben for lunch.
