For the first time ever, The Rooftop at Pier 17 will be able to host year-round concerts regardless of the weather! The exhilarating venue, known for its jaw-dropping views of the Brooklyn Bridge and East River, is debuting a climate-controlled enclosure to fit up to 3,000 fans during the winter time, all without obstructing the iconic backdrop.
The custom-designed structure will feature floor-to-ceiling glass sidings and a new VIP balcony level. The winter enclosure is only temporary of course, as the venue will transform back to an open-air format during the warmer months.
Audiences can expect an additional 25 concerts during late fall and through the winter, on top of the usual 60 that are scheduled between May and October.
The venue has hosted superstars from Billie Eilish to 21 Savage, Ringo Starr and Zach Bryan, and will only continue to bring more legends to the stage with these additional performances. Even Charlie XCX said the venue is “probably the most epic stage [she’s] been on.”
Pier 17‘s programming will continue with a five-year extension of the partnership between Seaport Entertainment Group and Live Nation. “We look forward to The Rooftop at Pier 17 transforming into a year-round concert venue,” said Anton Nikodemus, CEO of Seaport Entertainment Group. “Our state-of-the-art space will deliver an unparalleled experience for both artists and guests, providing the quintessential New York City live music venue no matter the season.”
The winter concerts will begin starting late next year, but the rooftop is already prepping for its 2025 summer season, which will include concerts from Elderbrook, Trivium and Bullet for My Valentine Peach Pit & Briston Maroney, Reggae Fest Blaze and more. Tickets are now on sale for the 2025 season on the venue’s website.
