If you’re one to revel in the Bronx Bombers’ unbelievable history, bookmark the New York Yankees’ Old Timers Day: 2025’s celebration is right around the corner, and it’s bound to be a notable one.
The summertime tradition will take place on Saturday, August 9th at noon in the Bronx vs. the Houston Astros . It’ll mark the Old-Timers’ Day’s 77th anniversary, celebrate 25 years since the Yankees’ 2000 World Series win, and be the first event in six years to include an alumni baseball game.
Needless to say, this is one of the best reasons to head uptown this season — in addition to the George Costanza bobblehead giveaway on Thursday, August 21st, of course.

As you might’ve noticed, there is one shortstop Hall of Famer who is noticeably missing from the roster: Derek Jeter. Apparently, he is not willing to play at this point.
“They’re not gonna see me hit again. No, I would be afraid I would hurt myself,” Jeter said at last year’s Old-Timers’ event, according to The New York Post. “But that’s not saying the reason there’s no game is because I’m not playing. I don’t make those decisions, contrary to your belief.”
Despite the iconic player not submitting an RSVP, this year’s celebration will still be one for the books. You can get tickets online.
