No matter what type of yoga you’re looking for, chances are you’ll find it in NYC. If you love a sweaty, intense workout mixed with some hip hop gems then Y7 studio is what you’re looking for.
Unlike traditional yoga classes you’ll find throughout the city, Y7 classes hit you with 60 minutes of pure intensity in a heated room (80-90°), followed by deep breathing and relaxing of the mind. Their focus on music is what really makes this studio stand out from the rest, as the pace of each class heavily depends on the flow of the music.
The rooms are candlelit with no mirrors, encouraging participants to truly embrace the darkness, music and heat. What better way to start your morning or decompress after a long day, than the rewarding feeling you get after a workout? Hello, endorphins!
Their list of available classes is endless, but they’re most known for their Hip Hop Wednesdays and Sundays, where they feature an artist of the week in the WeFlowHard vinyasa class. The music theme is announced every Monday on their Instagram, so follow the account for all the important updates (they even ask for artist of the week). The classes are intense, but don’t let that discourage you. All you need to bring is a kick-ass attitude.
Single classes start from $25, for more info on classes/bookings click here (private classes available as well).
In the words of Y7, namastizzle!
