And while we’ll happily lace up again when the chilly air returns, this season invites us to trade crisp winter evenings for warm breezes, live music, laughter, and scoops of ice cream shared with friends and family.
This summer, the Overlook at Wollman Rink transforms into a vibrant gathering place where New Yorkers of all ages can come together to celebrate the season.
From nostalgic outdoor movie nights and lively concerts to family programming, dance experiences, puppet performances, and pickleball fun, there’s something happening around every corner.
Whether you’re planning a cozy date night, a weekend family outing, or simply looking for a reason to soak up the city’s summer magic, Wollman’s 2026 Summer Season is ready to deliver.

- May 17: Sundaes on the Overlook: Season Opener – Live music by the Mike Risko Band and free ice cream from Mikey Likes It (11:00 am – 1:00 pm).
- May 19: Modern Marionette Performance – Creative puppet show blending storytelling and artistry for all ages.
- May 21: Thursday Movie Night – Outdoor screening of Zootopia 2 on the Overlook (Begins at dusk).

- June 4: Thursday Movie Night – Outdoor screening of Hamilton on the Overlook (Begins at dusk).
- June 16: Sounds of Summer Concert – High-energy 80s hits performed by popular tribute band The M80s.
- June 18: Thursday Movie Night – Outdoor screening of Wicked: For Good on the Overlook (Begins at dusk).

- July 2: Thursday Movie Night – Outdoor screening of Captain America: Brave New World (Begins at dusk).
- August 25: Sounds of Summer Concert – A return performance by 80s tribute band The M80s.

- Sept 28: Modern Marionette Performance – Season finale puppet show event on the Overlook.

- Community Specialty Events: Rotating activations including pet-focused programming with UrVet Care and Wimbledon-themed experiences.
- Thursday Movie Nights (Every other Thursday): Family-friendly blockbusters under the stars on the Overlook at dusk.
- Sundaes on the Overlook (Every other Sunday): Free scoops from Mikey Likes It Ice Cream plus family entertainment like the Bubble Bus and Magic Dave (11:00 am – 1:00 pm).
- CityPickle Residency (Daily): Seasonal pickleball courts, lessons, and clinics starting May 17.
- Arthur Murray Dance Experiences (Select Saturdays): Interactive Broadway dance sessions for all levels (11:00 am – 1:00 pm).
