One of the highlights of winter in NYC is Flatiron NoMad Partnership’s holiday programming series, Winter Glow. And this year, following a busy December holiday season, they’ll be extending their festive programming into the quieter months of January and February!
Winter Glow is the Flatiron NoMad Partnership’s three-week series of interactive, pop-up programming that invites New Yorkers and visitors to celebrate the season through light, art, music, and dance. The inaugural series kicked off in November 2023 with Control No Control, a giant, interactive LED cube.
The anchor of the seasonal programming is two innovative public art installations both making their NYC debut on Flatiron’s North Plaza this month: Spectrum by Mirari from QDSinternational and Les Diamants by Perséides Studio.

Both are life-size, interactive public art displays designed to encourage community participation while challenging the boundaries of light and sound. Spectrum invites visitors to speak through a series of rings and watch their voices and sounds transform into luminous waves, while Les Diamants are nearly 13-foot-tall “spinning tops” with illuminated rods that create vibrant pictures when spun.
Beyond the installations, the district-wide seasonal program also invites locals and out-of-towners to take advantage of deals and discounts from local businesses as well as new and improved sidewalk lighting scapes.
The Winter Glow art installation is free and open to the public. Those who visit on opening day, Thursday, January 16th beginning at 4:30pm, can witness the unveiling of the two massive art displays, hear from the artists that brought them to life, listen to a live band, and enjoy treats and libations from local businesses.
