Brooklyn’s beloved Taiwanese-American spot, Win Son Bakery, that always seems to have customers in and out of the door, is planning to expand into Manhattan with rumors of an East Village outpost.
According to EV Grieve, the East Village outpost will operate as a cafe, bakery and restaurant.
The Win Son team went in front of CB3’s SLA committee in early February to ask for a liquor license. If all goes well, the new location would pop up at 23 Second Avenue, formerly a dance studio that never reopened following the pandemic.
Win Son has been attracting rotating crowds since first going viral on TikTok for their scallion pancake bacon egg and cheese. The restaurant and bakery offers fried chicken, egg sandos, and an assortment of gāodiǎn (pastries), including their famous millet mochi donuts, chocolate bolo bao cake and more.
So cross your fingers and hope that we can get all the same goodies in Manhattan soon!
