Smoke plumes filled the air over Lower Manhattan this morning as a West Village apartment caught fire. According to ABC 7, the fire began on the roof of the building around 9:50am. Firefighters arrived shortly after, reaching the roof by 10am.
The cause of the fire is currently uncertain. No injuries have been reported.
The building is located on Charlton Street and reaches 25-stories high. There’s been a street closure on Hudson Street for the time being.

Unfortunately this follows another devastating tragedy as a seven story building partially collapsed in the Bronx yesterday. No victims were found, however, two people suffered from minor injuries.
