If the chilly weather is getting you down, and you are one of those people who forego a trip to the movies in favor of Netflix and chill, then we have some good news for you.
Battery Park City’s Brookfield Place (230 Vesey St) has found some middle ground for those who don’t want to brave the wintry weather. “Pictures Under the Palms” is hosted in the indoor atrium where spectators can get that “beach” feeling while soaking in a movie, comfy seats, and a pre-show DJ set by Tim Martell or Cornell McIntosh. The screenings start TODAY and continue on until February 27! Here’s the menu:
- January 23: Wonder Woman
- January 30: Mamma Mia!
- February 6: Rebel Without a Cause
How much of a strain will this top-notch event strain your wallet? Admission is free! Yes, FREE! Our second favorite four letter “F” word.
You can even vote for the next films on the list (February 13, 20, and 27)! The choices are all sports movies; Battle of the Sexes, Cool Runnings, Cutting Edge, Hoosiers, Miracle, Space Jam, The Triplets of Belleville, and When We Were Kings.
Doors open at 5:15 pm where there’ll be a DJ set until the movie which starts promptly at 7 pm.
