This brand new feature might make your COVID-19 testing experience in NYC so much easier.
Getting tested for COVID-19 is a vital way to help curb the spread of the disease, but that’s easier said than done when are limited testing facilities and people can end up waiting for hours before they finally just give up.
Though many New Yorkers are lining up at City MD locations around the block, NYC Health & Hospital locations (including public hospitals and pop-up sites) actually have the fastest wait times. And now, they’ve launched a new dashboard that allows you to actually see the wait ahead of time. So, if it says over two hours you can hang back, while if it says under 30 minutes (or better: no wait time!) you can head out right away.
First, check the location nearest you here.
Then, find that facility’s wait time on the new dashboard here.
It is refreshed every 15 minutes, and updated by staff at each facility every two hours.
People are still waiting hours in line for testing at CityMD. But you have other options:
* Public hospitals and clinics
* Dept of Health express sites
* Pop-up sites at schools
* Self-test micro sitesMany have short lines. Results usually in <48 hrs. Details by borough: pic.twitter.com/N9RSratZZb

Though some are not reported yet, it will likely become more encompassing as sites become accustomed to using it, since it only launched this week. Hopefully this will help save you some time while staying safe!
