You may have heard about the vintage subway cars that have been riding around the city this holiday season. This month, the New York Transit Museum is adding a vintage bus to the holiday route as well!
For the month of December, four buses from the New York Transit Museum’s vintage fleet will be in rotation for the Holiday Nostalgia Rides. The buses will be in service on the M42 bus route, traveling both East and West Bound along 42nd Street.
From Monday- Friday until December 21 you can catch the buses running from 9 am until 5 pm. The cost to board is just the typical MTA fare. The bus pictured below was built in 1956 and will be one of the buses on the fleet:
Additional vintage buses will also be available to board and explore at Union and Herald Squares. Since all Holiday Nostalgia Rides are weather permitting, make sure to keep an eye out for impending snow!
