The Veggie Pride Parade is one of NYC’s top free events for vegans to come together and celebrate their sustainable, animal-friendly and health conscious lifestyles.
You can find the start of the parade at 11am on 40 Gansevoort Street, in the old meatpacking district of Manhattan. Make sure you come dressed in theme, whether that be in a costume of your fave fruit, vegetable, animal or whatever else your creative juices can come up with. Following the parade, there will be an array of activities between 1 – 5pm and a dinner + dancy party at 8pm. Here’s the breakdown:
11am-1pm: Parade
1pm-5pm: Vegan food festival in Union Square Park, Costume Contest @ 2pm, various performances (dancing, hip hop, singing, drag show, live podcast) and speakers from vegan community/cooking demonstrations
8pm: VSpot Organic is hosting a vegan buffet (avocado fries, empanadas, quinoa salad) and dance party (featuring the sounds of DJ Rufus Gibson) at 12 Saint Marks Place in Manhattan. This part of the night isn’t included in the free entrance of the parade, so buy your ticket here for $25.
Start planning your costume now, you might even win the contest! Get ready for a day/night of good food and people coming together to support a great cause.
