Spring is upon us, and what better way to celebrate than to dive into a plethora of flowers? NYBG presents an “unforgettable world of art and nature” where Van Gogh’s work is magnified.
From May 23 through October 26, wander through a vibrant lawn of yellow blooms, dance to live music and performers and stare in awe at the night sky with the illuminated “Starry Night” inspired drone show. NYBG captures Van Gogh’s work in unexpected ways this spring, and you don’t want to miss out.
You can now get tickets for the dreamy experience!
By day, this new NYBG experience invites visitors to marvel at the season’s flowers. Inspired by Van Gogh’s oeuvre that professed his love for nature, NYBG presents botanical displays and contemporary art installations by Lee Baker and Catherine Borowski of Graphic Rewilding, sculptor Amie J. Jacobsen, and immersive artist Cyril Lancelin.
Come evening, the exhibition Van Gogh’s Flowers, comes aglow — culminating in a drone show that lights up the sky. NYBG will present their own rendition of “Starry Night,” capturing the post-impressionist’s love for nature and the open sky.
The show marks the “first of its kind at a cultural institution in New York City.”
Handcrafted cocktails and light bites will be available for purchase. And to romanticize the experience further, French tunes from a local acoustic quartet will transport you to Paris and Provence, where Van Gogh got much of his inspiration.
