Just a week following MTA’s limited-edition Ice Spice MetroCards, comes the release of 60,000 special-edition Vampire Weekend MetroCards.
The limited-quantity MetroCards are in celebration of the New York City rock band’s new album, Only God Was Above Us.
MTA and Columbia Records released the Vampire Weekend MetroCards at midnight today on Monday, May 20th. They’re only available at participating MetroCard vending machines at two NYC subway stations, those being 14 St-Union Square &
Grand Central-42 St, until supplies last.There are three versions of the Vampire Weekend MetroCard. Images from Steven Siegel, a photographer whose 1980s work inspired the new album, are on two of the three MetroCards.
In total, MTA has released 400 different limited-edition MetroCards to date. Following the Vampire Weekend drop, there will only be two final collectible MetroCards dropping.
