United Airlines just announced the largest international network expansion in company history—headlined by the first-ever nonstop flight connecting North America directly to Ibiza, Spain.
Beginning May 31, 2027, travelers can bypass stressful European hub layovers and fly directly from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to the island’s legendary nightlife, turquoise waters, and very questionable bedtime habits.
Route Overview: Newark (EWR) to Ibiza (IBZ)
Until now, reaching the White Island from the U.S. required connecting through major European transit points like Madrid, Barcelona, or London.
United’s new service makes it the only U.S. carrier offering direct transatlantic access to the island.

The route will debut United’s single-aisle Airbus A321XLR, engineered specifically for long-haul transoceanic routes. The cabin layout includes:
- 20 United Polaris Suites: Individual lie-flat business class pods equipped with private sliding doors
- 12 United Premium Plus Seats: Extra legroom and dedicated recline
- Economy Plus Innovation: Middle seats left open as shared tray tables, giving passengers extra elbow room (United expects to be the only major U.S. carrier offering this seating option)
- Tech Upgrades: Complimentary Starlink Wi-Fi for MileagePlus members and 4K OLED screens with Bluetooth connectivity at every seat
Expected Ticket Pricing
While official fares have not yet been announced, pricing is expected to be similar to United’s existing Balearic route from Newark to Palma de Mallorca:

- Polaris Business Class: $3,500 to $5,000+ round-trip (lie-flat suite, premium dining, priority check-in)
