In Chelsea Market’s basement now lives a venue dedicated to music and entertainment. The new Chelsea Music Hall will feature comedy shows, dinner theaters, concerts, and immersive theater events.
The underground space was created by the group of owners behind popular places like The Tippler, China Club, The Sullivan Room, and Kingdom Entertainment. However, Israeli chef Eyal Shani—owner of Chelsea Market’s Mizon—is the one creating the new venue’s menu.
As their Facebook page states:
“Paying homage to the revelry and rich entertainment culture of Chelsea’s past, the Chelsea Music Hall will showcase a diverse mix of immersive theatre and performances ranging from emerging acts to established artists and world-renowned DJs that are attracted to the intimacy of the room as well as the quality sound system.”
The venue already has various events scheduled for the rest of the month, and will also host the off-Broadway show “Cleopatra.”
Chelsea Music Hall officially opened on Thursday, October 18 at 10 p.m., and will be open based on the events taking place in the space.
