Scheduling a ride to the airport can get pretty pricey and the effort and time it takes to train there instead can be a pain. Lucky for us, Uber partner Live Nation amphitheaters is launching Uber shuttles to various destinations across the country for more affordable ride options to airports and concerts, and New York is included!
The new service is all part of Uber’s GO-GET 2024 campaign to bring people together and off their screens.
How will Uber shuttle work?
People can now book a seat on Uber Shuttle to go between various transportation hubs to LaGuardia airport. Manhattan pick-up and drop-off checkpoints include:
- Penn Station
- Port Authority
- Grand Central Terminal
Of course, riders will first need to arrive at the participating transit hubs to board the shuttle. Uber Shuttle will not do custom drop-off or pick-up points to say your home address or hotel.
How much is Uber shuttle?
Uber shuttle will offer an unbeatable flat rate price of $18. Plus, for the first month of the launch (which started October 8th, 2024), rides will be half off—just $9! That’s already less than a subway ride ($2.90) + AirTrain ($8.25) fee for getting to JFK.
How can I book an Uber shuttle?
Passengers can book a seat on Uber shuttle up to a week ahead of their departure date (for up to four seats) on the Uber app. The shuttle operates daily rides every half hour between 5:00am – 10:45pm.
Upon entering the shuttle, passengers will need to scan their QR code on the Uber app to check in.
How many riders does Uber shuttle fit?
Uber shuttle can fit up to 14 riders. You can reserve up to four seats at a time.
What luggage is allowed on Uber Shuttle?
Each passenger is allowed to bring a 50-pound bag with them.
Are Uber shuttles operating elsewhere?
The concept of Uber shuttles has been around since 2019. Though this is the first time they are en route to airports, they have previously taken passengers to various concert and sports venues such as Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium and Charlotte’s PNC Pavilion. The company hopes to add more airport routes in the near future.
