There can never be too many taquerias in NYC…and the Union Square area can definitely use a good one! That said, Taco Electrico is about to bring a bit of Mexico to Manhattan this summer.
The new taqueria and bar “channels the creative energy and electricity that comes with the art, music, cuisine, and nightlife scenes of Mexico City and New York City.”
Taco Electrico comes from the Gerber Group (who also own Irvington, Mr. Purple, The Campbell, and Whiskey Blue) and will be located at a 1,600-square-foot space at 201 Park Avenue South—within the W New York, with an entrance on 17th Street. The restaurant plans to serve tequila, mezcal, margaritas, and local beers, as well as shared plates and tacos by chef Fernando Navas!
It’s expected to open sometime this month.
