No need to lift your Halloween mask to look both ways this year—a record-breaking 137 NYC streets are going car-free for the return of Trick-or-Streets 2025!
Now in its fourth spooky year, this citywide Halloween takeover is expanding into a two-week festival packed with live music, spooky crafts, and eerie photo ops. From October 17 through October 31, New Yorkers can stroll safely through a Halloween wonderland where the only thing you’ll bump into is a costumed ghost (or three 👻).
NYC DOT Commissioner Ydanis Rodriguez stated:
Throughout the month of October, NYC DOT’s fourth annual Trick-or-Streets program will bring seasonal events to plazas and Open Streets…to bring joy, culture, and greater safety for New Yorkers of all ages and abilities to celebrate the Halloween season.
