Spring is in full swing and summer’s following suit…which means it’s officially rooftop season!
Sipping cocktails, looking at the NYC skyline, very little beats it…especially with so many options across the city.
And while we do have our definitive guide to the best rooftop bars in NYC, this time we’re spilling our secrets on brand new ones set to make a splash in the coming months.
We’ve dug through TikTok, attended press previews, and done all the hard work so you know where to go before they get popular.
Bookmark these new rooftop spots before it’s too late.
Leonessa

The Conrad New York has transformed its rooftop into what we believe is going to be one of the most sought after rooftops in the city.
Leonessa graces the 16th floor of the hotel and is a love letter to Italy’s aperativo culture, complete with an elevated bar program and Amalfi Coast-inspired decor.
It’s the kind of place where you can sip on light spritzes and bitter-forward cocktails, and even invites guests to personalize their own spritz with the bar’s collection of amari, vermouth, and cordials.
Not to mention the lush lemon trees, verdant greenery, Amalfi Coast-inspired fountain, and colorful seating that feels like you’re lounging at the palazzo terrace. Instead, you’re teleporting to Europe locally…by grabbing glimpses of the Hudson River and the Statue of Liberty.
Think of it as an early start to “Euro Summer ’25.”

Bar Sprezzatura

This new rooftop bar near Times Square is actually worth trekking toward the busy neighborhood.
Bar Sprezzatura is here and it’s great—it feels like you’re on the Italian Riviera.
Complete with the effervescence of Positano, we recommend stopping by this summer for a spritz and to trying out the coastal-forward spring menu. Mediterranean flavors headline, with dishes like Grilled Langoustine and Lobster Salad Bruschett making it impossible to pass up.
If you go, do it during the daily happy hour (5 – 7 pm) and take advantage of $4 Italian beers, $8 glasses of wine, and $10 spritzes, negronis, and martinis—paired with small plates like Guanciale Meatballs, Caprese Crostini, and Spicy Tuna Cannoli starting at just $3.
We’re calling an ‘Italy-New York summer’ now.

Bar Tetto Rooftop

We don’t often gatekeep, but Bar Tetto Rooftop is our little secret we’re letting out of the bag.
It’s the conjoined rooftop of newly-opened Nº 79 Bar & Terrace which just opened in the Lower East Side at the top of the Merchant Hotel. We foresee it being a lively nightlife spot where 20 – 30 year olds will be having late summer nights drinking espresso martinis deep into the night.
It’s open Wednesdays – Saturdays starting at 5 pm.

Akoya

Akoya just opened atop The Knickerbocker Hotel and it’s spearheaded by the acclaimed Charlie Palmer…so you already know it’s good.
It’s a sushi and cocktail rooftop bar that includes an eye-catching menu of temaki, sake, and more.
The 33-seat restaurant includes a 13-seat handroll bar, offering guests a refined temaki-style dining experience. Everything’s curated by Chef Yamaguchi—which means items like grilled oysters with scallion relish and seaweed chiffonade, Australian wagyu tataki hand rolls with caviar and a wasabi aioli, and yuzu-cured scallops.
