Our cowboy hats and rhinestones are ready for the Beyoncé MetLife Stadium pitstop, but it’s unclear as to whether or not the potential NJ Transit strike will affect transportation to the shows, which run from May 22nd to 29th.
There won’t be any bus or train service to MetLife for Shakira’s shows on May 15th and 16th, so we’re a bit on edge about the Cowboy Carter tour. Will one of the most anticipated May concerts in New York — err, New Jersey — be a nightmare to get to?
Sorry folks, we hate to break the news, but now is the time to start making alternate plans if you haven’t already.
Will trains run to the Beyoncé MetLife Stadium shows?
At the time of publication, Meadowlands service for the Beyoncé concert remains TBD according to NJ Transit spokesperson John Chartier, as reported by Gothamist.
Given the issues with Shakira’s performances, MetLife has already issued statements regarding alternate travel routes on its site, which are as follows:
- Coach USA bus service will provide limited service between Port Authority and MetLife Stadium. Advance ticket purchase is required for the 351 Express., and advance ticket sales are available online
- If you’re planning to drive to MetLife, carpool when possible and arrive ahead of schedule, as traffic will be extra heavy
- If you’re planning to use a rideshare like Uber or Lyft, do expect lengthier waits, more expensive prices, and busier pick-ups
- If you are dropping off loved ones but not attending the concert, MetLife recommends staying in the area, like the neighboring American Dream Mall, during the show’s duration
For more updates on the traffic situation, return to the MetLife website for any breaking news.
Should you want to make an overnight trip out of Beyoncé’s arrival, we recommend booking a stay ASAP at locations like The Park Hotel at Meadowlands or the Hampton Inn in Carlstadt.
Keep your eyes peeled on this page, as we’ll update you on any traffic developments as we get closer to Queen Bey’s arrival. Wishing you the best of luck with your commute.
