If you’re still waiting for your birthday wish to come true, here’s your second chance to manifest those desires–this December, Times Square is once again unveiling its New Year’s Eve Wishing Wall, where you can jot down your hopes for 2026 on the same confetti that will rain down over the crowd at the stroke of midnight on New Year’s Eve.
Because honestly, the magic of Times Square New Year’s Eve goes way beyond the iconic ball drop!
When the clock hits midnight on January 1, about 3,000 pounds of colorful confetti will flutter down over Times Square to ring in the new year, and your wish for 2026 can be printed on one of those tiny pieces that end up blanketing the streets of NYC.

This NYE Wishing Wall has become a beloved annual tradition, uniting people from all over the world as they share their hopes and dreams for the year ahead. Visitors can head to the Wishing Wall, grab a piece of confetti, write down their wish, and tack it to the wall. Then, as the big moment approaches, your wish is collected with thousands of others and released into the sky over Times Square.
And don’t worry if you’re not in New York this December–you can still get in on the magic. As in years past, you can submit your wish online and have it added to the confetti shower. Tom Harris, President of the Times Square Alliance, stated:
The New Year is a moment of reflection and renewal, and each wish placed on the Wishing Wall represents optimism for what lies ahead. The confetti of wishes that drops at midnight is another symbol of the spirit that makes Times Square a beacon of hope for people around the world.

Each wish collected before December 29 via the in-person Wishing Wall or submitted online will be printed out for the 2026 New Year’s Eve festivities. Any wishes submitted online after December 28 will roll over and be printed for next year’s New Year’s Eve celebration. Brian Povinelli, Chief Marketing Officer at Planet Fitness, stated:
We’re thrilled to be kicking off 2026 strong and helping people feel motivated, confident, and supported at the start of the New Year. There’s no better time or more inspiring place to share this message than in Times Square as wishes for the year ahead fall from the sky.
