We could all use a little culture in our lives. But you don’t have to be rich to be cultured. These three art galleries have awesome exhibitions opening this week, which you can go to for free.
1. David Zwirner Gallery
[De Wain Valentine]Located in Soho, this gallery represents over 40 artists. Starting at the end of this week, David Zwirner is going to be presenting an exhibition of works from the 60s and 70s by De Wain Valentine, a key member of what is often referred to as the Light and Space Movement. Check out the details on our favorite event discovery app, Fever.
2. Sean Kelly Gallery
[Observer]Opening this Thursday at the Sean Kelly Gallery is a group exhibition called By The Book, which explores the influence of literature in contemporary art. Over 25 artists will be featured. Whether you’re primarily an artist, or primarily a writer, this exhibition is sure to be inspiring.
3. Con Artist Collective
[Con Artist Collective]This is a collective, community, workspace and gallery all in one. Opening this week is We Fall Apart, a group show which attempts to answer many powerful questions: What are we made of? How are we composed as a society? How do we fit together and why do we fall apart?
