This New Backyard Garden Rooftop In The East Village Is A Perfect Summer Spot • The Ready

Ready for The Ready?

The funkiest new rooftop in New York City just opened last Thursday called The Ready at Moxy East Village. Under the Tao Group Hospitality, it’s their first venue to open in NYC this year.

Designed by the Rockwell Group, “The Ready evokes a coveted New York City backyard” and “feels like an escape from the New York daily grind,” said a recent press release. The space gives off a “beer-garden vibe” with table-side coolers offering local brews like City Light Lager or Bronx Brewery, including more drink options like sparkling wine and frozen cocktails.

Try your hand at the beer pong table (that doubles as communal seating) and after a great game get hungry for some fresh made-to-order tacos!

Its eclectic and colorful furnishing, along with a hand-painted mural pays homage to the neighborhood’s energy and culture. With tiered amphitheater seating, string lights, and draping vines, the ambiance is perfect for a summer night.

There’s even a retractable glass roof so the rooftop can show off panoramic views of the city all year-round.

“It’s nice to see New Yorkers returning to our venues and we’re so excited to be able to open a brand-new rooftop, and our first new venue in NYC since 2019, at Moxy East Village,” said co-Founder of Tao Group, Noah Tepperberg. “With the warm-weather approaching, it is perfect timing to debut The Ready.”
