After being closed for over a year, the legendary Plaza Hotel will finally welcome guests once again.
The hotel recently announced its return for May 20th and is already taking reservations.
After last addressing guests of their closure on March 27th, 2020, The Plaza made a new announcement on their website stating, “For the past year you’ve been asked to stay home, The Plaza is now extending its formal invitation to return to New York.”
The hotel was actually the first U.S. acquisition of the global company Katara Hospitality back in 2018, that now owns the hotel.
The Plaza has been welcoming guests of notoriety and social stature since its initial opening in 1907. For over a century it has hosted royalty, diplomats, and global visitors. And with its location right off of Central Park, it’s a hotel as iconic as the city itself!
The reopening of the New York City landmark signifies the strength of New York and the return of tourism to the city. Many hotels and businesses including The Plaza had to shut down at the beginning of the pandemic, and its revival only speaks to the city’s prosperity in these trying times.
