Well now its cozy winter concept is back for the holiday season — starting Monday, November 22.
The seasonal conversion of “The Greens” features 32 individual dining cabins for guests to enjoy throughout the winter months. Each custom-built cabin is 10′ x 10′ and can seat up to eight people.
The cabins will bring customers plenty of chic and modern winter décor, spacious banquette seating, a virtual fireplace, heaters, and floor-to-ceiling views of New York City. Each cabin is “ski-inspired” in design, and the rooftop will even feature a life-sized mountain range sculpture on their stage space, along with tons of twinkling lights.
With views of the East River and Brooklyn Bridge, diners are sure to feel like they’ve escaped to their very own cozy getaway with stunning skyline views.
And guests can reserve cabins for up to 90 minutes, starting now!
“We are pleased to reintroduce our neighbors and welcome newcomers to one of the most unique dining concepts in Manhattan,” said Saul Scherl, President of the New York Tri-State Region, The Howard Hughes Corporation®.
“Designed to be a welcome retreat from the everyday, The Greens provides a culinary experience unlike any other. We have incorporated some exciting changes in our second winter season to further enhance the dining experience and look forward to sharing these with our guests.”
Operating seven days a week, guests can make reservations online as recommended, though walk-ups will be seated depending on availability.
Reservations through November are currently available, and new reservation dates will continue to be released every Monday at 10 a.m.
Of course, they’re following thorough cleaning procedures after each party leaves a cabin and the restaurant will offer touchless mobile ordering with QR codes, Molekule air purifiers, and hand sanitizer stations across the rooftop to ensure a safe, dining experience. Masks will be required for all staff, and guests 12 years or older will be kindly asked to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
The elevated dining experience will now be full-service, with dedicated servers for each cabin. Also new this year, The Greens menu this winter will celebrate different cuisines such as Southern, Japanese, Latin, Vegan, and more. The diverse selection of dishes will be available à la carte along with cocktails and desserts. Some menu examples include:
- Buttermilk Fried Chicken with mashed potatoes and chipotle gravy
- Tuna Maki Roll with spicy chili emulsion, sesame seeds, and shiso
- Arroz Con Pollo with salsa matcha, pickled chili, cilantro, and lemon
- Caramelized Butternut Squash with pumpkin seed emulsion, quinoa, and pumpkin seed gremolata
There will also be a cabin reservation fee starting at $20, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting local nonprofit partners. The Rooftop will also be home to “community cabins” for visitors to enjoy free-of-charge, in addition to the open public space available for all to enjoy. Located on the west side of Pier 17 overlooking the Lower Manhattan skyline, the community cabins will be available on a first-come-first-served basis for 60-minute intervals to the public during rooftop hours of operation starting December 1.
The Pier’s winter concept is sure to be a hit once again, so make reservations as soon as possible so you don’t miss out on the season’s most exciting dining experience yet! Find out more on The Greens’ website.
