The Boardroom, an upscale speakeasy bringing together truly memorable cocktails in a sexy, moody space (with a touch of nostalgia), is making its way to the heart of Manhattan, and it will be the hippest new place to sip and socialize.
Accessed through a dramatic industrial door toward the back of the airy food hall The Hugh, the sophisticated cocktail lounge gives off total Mad Men vibes.
Inside the 60-seat space a sultry, opulent interior awaits.
Designed by Brooklyn-based Home Studios, the space includes 14 bar seats along with several tables with booth seating. Deep neutrals juxtapose rich, vibrant tones to create an enticingly moody atmosphere that transports guests to a bygone era.
Though the drinks are what we really have our eye on.
The menu offers cocktails for a broad range of palates, from nostalgic classics to fresh innovations. The AM Prescription, for example, pairs together Wyoming Whiskey Small Batch Bourbon, Glenfiddich 14-year Bourbon Barrel Reserve Scotch, Laphroaig 10-year Scotch perfume, Montenegro Amaro, fresh lemon juice, honey-ginger, fig preserve, angostura bitters and soda.
Additional beverages, developed exclusively for The Boardroom, include the Boardroom Gimlet, made with olive oil and herb-infused Three Olives Vodka, Dolin Blanc Vermouth, cucumber, basil, fresh lime juice, and salted olive bitters while the Midnight Spritz in Paris pairs Fort Hamilton Double Barrel Bourbon with Grand Marnier, raspberry-peach marinade, chamomile, fresh lemon juice, and champagne.
Beyond the cocktails there’s a Reserve Old Fashioned list which includes an array of variations made with upleveled spirits, such as Glenrothes 18-Year Scotch, Wyoming Single Barrel Bourbon, and Bushmills 16-Year Irish Whiskey, along with a curated wine and beer list and a vintage scotch collection.
Guests can also pair their drinks with an assortment of small plates.
“The corporate world needs an elevated cocktail lounge in Midtown,” says co-founder Jesse Jacobs. “We’re passionate about perfectly executed cocktails, and the opportunity to bring a dynamic beverage menu to a similarly discrete spot in a different part of the city is really exciting.”
The Boardroom will provide coworkers, clients, CEOs, and locals alike with a sultry respite from the wildness of NYC.
They open next week and will be open Monday-Thursday, 5 p.m. to 12 a.m, Friday-Saturday, 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., and Sunday 5 p.m. – 11 p.m.
