We know, we know: you made a New Year’s Resolution to eat healthier and work out and all that crap. But surely you have time to squeeze in one more treat, especially when it’s a delicious cupcake from one of these bakeries:
Baked does a delicious classic vanilla cupcake, which can make your mouth water with no bells and whistles. Lucky for us, there’s now a Tribeca location, so you don’t have to hike all the way out to Red Hook anymore.
4. Sweet Revenge
Sweet Revenge isn’t exclusively a bakery, but they definitely make a good cupcake. They offer interesting flavors like the Spice Island Carrot Cupcake and the Bird of Paradise Cupcake. Both are a unique combination of flavors and both are definitely worth a try.
3. Billy’s Bakery
Either the chocolate or the vanilla (AKA Yellow Daisy) cupcake at Billy’s is definitely worth the calories, despite its simplicity. The cake is moist, and the buttercream frosting is to-die-for.
2. Sugar Sweet Sunshine
With a name like that, how could your bakery not be filled with yums and happiness? This bakery keeps the Lower East Side filled with sunshine even on rainy days, and their most popular treat is definitely their pistachio cupcake.
1. Two Little Red Hens
This bakery is racking up the championship rankings in our countdowns. All the experts agree that the Brooklyn Blackout cupcake from Two Little Red Hens is the best cupcake in the city. It has a molten chocolate center and a devilishly fudgy icing. Definitely worth the extra thirty minutes on the treadmill.
