After a long week, we are finally pedaling toward one of the most anticipated events on the city’s calendar. This Sunday, the streets of New York will transform into a cyclist’s paradise for the annual TD Five Boro Bike Tour.

The Ultimate Car-Free Experience
The TD Five Boro Bike Tour is the largest charitable cycling event in the United States.
Produced by Bike New York, the tour provides a unique “car-free” environment, allowing riders of all skill levels to traverse the city’s iconic bridges and highways—areas usually reserved strictly for motorized vehicles.
The route begins in Lower Manhattan, winds through the scenic views of Central Park, heads north into the Bronx, swings back down through Queens and Brooklyn, and culminates in a triumphant finish at Fort Wadsworth on Staten Island.
While it is a bucket-list item for many athletes, it is also a logistical feat that requires the coordination of the NYPD and various city agencies.
This massive event offers a unique opportunity to see the city without the roar of engines, but it also necessitates a complex web of street closures across all five boroughs.
