What happens in Vegas…apparently happens in New York City, too! And honestly, we’re into it. A Las Vegas-style wedding chapel has officially opened on the Lower East Side, giving New Yorkers the chance to ditch the courthouse (or the wallet-draining venues, seating charts, and years of planning) and instead get hitched in true Vegas fashion.
Meet Sure Thing, a slice of Sin City elopement heaven where you can say “I do” to songs played on a neon pink electric Wurlitzer organ, exchange vows beneath a disco ball of cuddling pigeons, and even have a drag clown officiate your big day.
Best of all? Weddings start at $666, making this a pretty unconventional alternative to NYC’s notoriously expensive wedding scene.
Inside Sure thing, NYC’s new Vegas-style wedding chapel
Founded by Victoria Hogan and Amy Lee—who launched the wildly successful original Sure Thing Las Vegas chapels in 2019 and 2024—the new outpost at 122 Allen Street is a pure, unadulterated dopamine hit.
The concept was inspired by the over-the-top, cherub-filled wedding chapels that became popular during the World War II era, according to Curbed. And the NYC location certainly delivers.
At just 400 square feet, it’s the smallest of the three chapels, but what it lacks in square footage it makes up for in personality. Think: pink fiberglass chairs, cloud wallpaper, red velvet drapery, and a mirrored mobile featuring two very affectionate pigeons.
And it’s all housed behind a flamingo-pink façade.
The inspiration board reportedly included everything from I Dream of Jeannie and David Lynch to Studio 54. As Hogan told Curbed, they wanted the space to “feel gaudy and over-the-top.”

Say “I do” with a drag clown officiant
If you’re not looking for the traditional walk down the aisle, Sure Thing has several wedding packages to choose from, with options for intimate elopements and celebrations with up to 18 guests.
Here’s a look at the offerings:
- The New York Minute ($666+): An intimate 30-minute ceremony for just the couple, with no guests allowed. It includes an officiant, ceremony, marriage license filing, and access to the neighboring Autophoto Photobooth Museum
- The Sure Thing ($777+): The chapel’s most popular package, offering a 30-minute ceremony for up to 18 guests
- The Whole Shebang ($999+): A 60-minute ceremony for up to 18 guests, ideal for couples who want a little more time to celebrate
- Give It A Wurl ($1,222): A 60-minute ceremony featuring live music on the chapel’s vintage Wurlitzer electric piano. Couples can choose two songs from a curated catalog, including Elvis’s Can’t Help Falling in Love, Frank Sinatra’s New York, New York, and Mazzy Star’s Fade Into You
- The Main Attraction ($1,444): The most theatrical option of them all, featuring entertainment by Tillie the Clown, NYC’s self-described premiere drag clown and “genderless jester ready to help you tie the knot”
And if you’re wondering whether you can bring your own Elvis, the chapel has also featured Hellvis, a goth-inspired comedic Elvis character, as an officiant. Filmmaker John Waters even recently officiated a wedding at the NYC location, according to Curbed.

A few things to know before eloping
A Vegas-style wedding doesn’t mean you can skip the legal paperwork entirely. Couples must first obtain a marriage license through the NYC City Clerk’s Office. Sure Thing will sign the paperwork after the ceremony and handle the filing.
The chapel exclusively offers non-religious ceremonies, but welcomes LGBTQIA+ weddings and polyamorous commitment ceremonies. Already married? You can also book any package for a vow renewal or commitment ceremony at the same listed price.
A few other things worth knowing:
- You can bring your own photographer at no additional cost
- Couples can exchange personal vows and rings, or simply keep things short and sweet
- There’s no food or alcohol allowed inside the chapel, so save the champagne toast for afterward
- Couples get access to neighboring Autophoto Photobooth Museum immediately after their ceremony, where they can take vintage photobooth pictures. Photo strips are an additional cost
- The chapel does not offer custom wedding planning or personalized services outside of what’s included in each package
