You Can Pick Your Own Summer Sunflowers At This Farm In New Jersey • Happy Day Farm

Nothing says summer quite like getting lost in a field of sunflowers, and being able to take some home!

Happy Day Farm in New Jersey has opened its sunflower field for the summer, to those looking to come out and pick their own fresh flowers. And honestly, even if you decide not to take any home (though, why wouldn’t you?) the sight of a sunflower field alone is worth the visit. Sunflowers can grow to be 6-to-10-feet tall, making a field of them the summer equivalent to fall’s corn mazes.

While you’re out exploring the field, picking your flowers, and taking obligatory photos you’ll be able to cool down with the farm’s fresh squeezed lemonade and shaved ices that are available daily.

Those interested in making a fun day trip out of it have until August 14 to go picking. They will be closing after that to prepare for their fall season, but also they they expect for more to bloom in between them, so stay up to date on their Instagram in case they open back up for more picking!

Happy Day Farm also recommends that people bring their own cutting shears and bucket of water to transport the flowers home. But if you forget, you can borrow their shears for $10.

The farm, which is open from Wednesday to Sunday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (last entry at 2:30pm sharp), is cash only! So be sure to have some on you before heading over. The admission fee per person is still being determined for this year (although children 1 and under are free), and sunflowers cost $2.50 per stem. Dogs, unfortunately, are not allowed. Explore their sunflower picking page for more info.
