Since learning the devastating news that Russia had invaded Ukraine, people all over the world have been banding together to show their support and help Ukrainians.
And this weekend, on their National Day of Unity, the Unify Ukraine campaign is inspiring us even more to stand with Ukraine.
This Sunday, January 22, the Flatiron Plaza will be filled with a stunning field of 335 sunflowers–the national flower of Ukraine and a symbol of peace, happiness, and hope. The 335 sunflowers stand for each day Russia has occupied the country.
NYers are invited to take photos in front of the sunflower garden and share them to social media to show support for the millions of displaced refugees, as well as those who have remained in the country to fight for freedom.
Those who are unable to visit the sunflower field can show their support by posting an image of sunflowers to social media using the hashtag #UnifyUkraine. Or, head to Unify Ukraine’s website to share a virtual sunflower.
Be a part of this impactful moment and social to bring hope to Ukraine during these dark times. And, when the installation has ended, continue to support Ukraine at these 12 Ukrainian NYC businesses.
