We’re less than two weeks away from summer, and with it, all the incredible (and might we add, free) programming offered in the city. One of the most beloved events of the season is SummerStage, and this weekend they’re kicking off their epic 2024 lineup!

What is SummerStage?
Capital One City Parks Foundation SummerStage is an annual festival that spotlights emerging artists across all genres through free performances across all five boroughs of NYC. The festival prides itself on uplifting the diversity of NYC and more specifically championing female artists.
“It’s always an honor to bring a lineup of both established and rising artists that celebrate the rich cultural fabric of our neighborhoods across the city to parks, all for free,” said Heather Lubov, Executive Director of City Parks Foundation. “Enjoying live music while outside in a park is one of the most joyful and memorable opportunities we can offer to New Yorkers, bringing neighbors and communities together for what is always a very special, shared experience.”
When is SummerStage 2024?
The 2024 season of SummerStage marks the festival’s 38th year. It’s advertised on their brochure to run from May-October as James Arthur performed in a benefit show on May 17th. However, the series officially kicks off this Saturday, June 15th with Andy Montañez.
SummserStage 2024 will conclude its free and benefit shows on Sunday, October 20th.
Where is SummerStage 2024?
SummerStage will host performances across all five boroughs throughout its duration, with benefit concerts specifically in Central Park. This year’s neighborhood venues include Marcus Garvey Park in Harlem, Tompkins Square Park in the East Village, Herbert Von King Park in Bed-Stuy, The Coney Island Amphitheater on the boardwalk, Flushing Meadows-Corona Park in Queens, Crotona Park in the Bronx, Stapleton Waterfront Park in Staten Island, and Rumsey Playfield in Central Park.
Who is performing at SummerStage 2024?
This year’s iteration of SummerStage will host 85 free and benefit performances. New Yorkers can look forward to seeing artists including Kim Gordon, Sun Ra Arkestra, Arooj Aftab, Corinne Bailey Rae, Ezra Collective, The Yussef Dayes Experience, Alcione, Andy Montañez, Ghostface Killah, Fonseca, Milly Quezada, Galactic ft. Irma Thomas, MIKE’s Young World IV, Snail Mail, NEMS, and more, Additional benefit performances will feature James Arthur, KES, Dreamland Pride, Masego, T-Pain, Counting Crows, and more.
How can you attend a SummerStage show?
