Brian Jones, fan of the 1983 movie and founder + owner of the House from A Christmas Story, first bought the iconic house off of eBay in the early 2000s. After being restored to its original appearance in the movie, Jones officially opened the house for overnight stays in 2017. As of 2023, the house is under new ownership of Joshua Dickerson, the former CEO of A House from A Christmas Story.
Now fans can sleepover at Ralphie’s house, with up to six guests, year-round and 7-days a week. Overnight visitors will have the entire house to themselves, from the iconic kitchen to the living room proudly displaying the leg lamp. Guests will also receive a free tour of the house and discounts on local restaurants, included in the booking.
Before offering an overnight stay, Brian Jones mentioned they had “countless requests from fans eager to spend the night in the house” and they were “thrilled to finally make this dream come true.”
Though the film is set in a fictional town in Indiana, the real home is located in Cleveland, Ohio at 3159 W. 11th St. So forget about spending the holidays Upstate at your mother-in-laws and why not catch a flight to Cleveland for an experience you’ll never forget.
If staying overnight in the house wasn’t enough to satiate your love for the film, you can even explore the Museum of A Christmas Story across the street, owned by Dickerson too. The museum showcases various props from the movie and offers hourly tours of the house. General admission tickets are $18/per person.
And if you’re really that much of a super fan, you can even head next door to the Bumpus house for an overnight stay at the neighbor’s place too!
