Song Suffragettes are taking their activism and vocal pipes to New York City on Tuesday, June 13th at The Loft at City Winery.
The all-female concert series was originally born out of Nashville, Tennessee nearly a decade ago to highlight some of the best female singer-songwriters in town. Over the years, Song Suffragettes have featured more than 400 women across Nashville and London, including performers like Kelsea Ballerini, GAYLE, and Lainey Wilson.
And now, some of the best female singer-songwriters from the five boroughs and beyond are coming together to share their talents, while fighting a greater battle by spotlighting gender disparity within the industry.
The inaugural Song Suffragettes NYC show will host Alexa Dark, Ariana and the Rose, Eva Westphal, Jillian Dawn, and Hayes Warner, beginning at 7:30pm. You can learn more about each individual artist on Song Suffragette’s Instagram.
And if you miss them tomorrow, don’t worry! Song Suffragettes will return to City Winery every second Tuesday of the month with wowing performances.
Each show will feature five mind-blowing singer-songwriters. The ladies will open their souls to the audience, singing their songs and sharing their stories. Who knows, you could be listening to the next biggest IT girl! Book your seats in the crowd today.
Convinced you’re that IT girl? Well you can apply to be a part of Song Suffragettes NYC. Each show they reserve one or two spots for a new female singer-songwriter. You can submit your application here. Note: if you’re applying, you must be willing to sing three original pieces, must be comfortable with no backing musicians, you’ll be responsible for your own instrument, etc.
