Looking for the perfect winter escape? Well this Airbnb will have you sleeping inside an actual igloo. The only problem…it’s about 4,000 miles away in Finland.
But before you get upset, the whimsical Airbnb is so cool it just might convince you to find a way to Finland.
The igloo destination stay is a private room inside an ice dome in Pelkosenniemi, which is in the Lapland province, the northernmost region of Finland. Located next to lake Pyhäjärvi and Pyhä-Luosto National Park, visitors should note the nearest supermarket and restaurant is 10km away at a nearby ski resort.
Guests will be provided a sleeping bag and a flashlight. However, since it remains quite cold in the igloo, patrons are encouraged to bring their own thermal layers including hats, gloves and warm socks. If it ever gets too cold, visitors can access a heated apartment nearby at any hour of the day.
The snow igloo Airbnb is priced at $163/night and has a high rating of 4.89. A self service breakfast is included with your stay.
If sleeping inside a real life igloo wasn’t interesting enough, guests have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to potentially catch the Northern Lights right outside.
