‘Small Is Beautiful,’ a captivating miniature art museum in the heart of NYC, has been wowing visitors. After receiving more than 150,000 attendees and incredible reviews in London and Paris, the space has opened steps from Washington Square Park. And now, Small is Beautiful is inviting college students in New York state to submit their own mini masterpieces for consideration in a miniature art competition.
College-level students who submit their creations will be competing for a chance to have their very own artwork featured in the Small is Beautiful miniature museum for a month. On top of this, the winner(s) will be featured on Secret NYC, New York City’s most viral city guide, and have the opportunity to sell their work, if desired.
The prompt for the competition is as follows: Miniature artwork is often overlooked due to its size. Use your piece to speak to a factor that is often overlooked or relatively unknown about you, your city, culture, industry, studies, passions, etc. in New York.

The unique competition will begin taking submissions on May 19 at 12pm EST and will remain open until July 14 at 12pm EST. Once this window closes, all artwork will be reviewed by a panel of judges. The 21K+ followers of Small is Beautiful (@smallisbeautifulart) will also get an opportunity to vote on the submissions from July 14 to July 28.
Finally, the winner(s) of this one-of-a-kind miniature art competition will be announced on Friday, August 4th!
