A new record–breaking attraction, currently known as Project Purple, has officially reached a major construction milestone, with its towering structure now climbing past 315 feet as it continues to take shape ahead of its planned 2027 debut.

Construction crews have officially pushed the ride’s structure to 315 feet, making it the tallest structure currently standing at the park. The highly anticipated attraction, currently operating under the codename Project Purple, is slated to officially open in 2027.
The mega-coaster is being built on the historic footprint of Kingda Ka—the legendary 456-foot strata-coaster that reigned supreme as the world’s tallest roller coaster for 19 years before its controlled implosion in 2024.
While thrill-seekers mourned the loss of Kingda Ka, the 2027 project promises a complete evolution in ride tech. Early disclosures tease a record-breaking, multi-launch experience (rumored to be a massive Mack Rides shuttle model) that will trade Kingda Ka’s brief “one-trick pony” layout for unique train configurations, multiple high-speed launches, and brand-new extreme elements.
