Hidden away in a warehouse in Red Hook, is the most theatrical minigolf course you will ever see. Shipwrecked feels more like a theme park than golf, truly a unique NYC experience for adults and kids alike.
Golf is often thought of as the game of a few elites that can afford country club memberships. Well, if golf is the game of presidents, mini golf is the game for everyone else. It just so happens that one of the best mini golf courses this side of the globe happens to be hidden away in a warehouse in Red Hook… But, hey, don’t take our word for it. Take Tripadvisor (4.5/5 stars), Yelp (4.5/5 stars), Facebook (4.9/5 stars) and Google-reviews (4.5/5 stars) word for it.
The owners and operators of Shipwrecked are both theatre majors… and boy does it show. Chris Schneider and Ryan Powers, friends since college, quit their Broadway jobs working in props and sound design, to dedicate themselves this theatrical indoor 18-hole mini golf experience. It took them over a year of painstaking work to complete, and we can tell you, it was worth every second.
Once there, you’ll embark on a comic book style adventure led by your pirate captain to find treasure. Theatrical lighting and special effects will immerse you in the moment you as you play through a barrel (of rum) load of themed areas on the course. Hole-in-one in a coral reef? Pirate ship? Underwater? This place has it all… oh yeah, and there’s beer and pizza too.
Whether you’re looking for something to do with the kids or are looking for a fun activity with friends, don’t doubt that Shipwrecked will bring entertainment in spades.
